Society Visual Music continues to explore the social and cultural repercussions of the
pandemic through video and sound. The project was formed by the limitations of the
pandemic, particularly the need to communicate electronic music performance in video packages. As we begin to physically gather together again, everything is not the way it was. The digital is more present than ever. To make this visible, at our experimental
screening, Society Visual Musics "Odyssey" projection will stand-in for a physical DJ and
set-up.
Footage of the audience and space will be integrated with "Odyssey" in real-time
using TouchDesigner, immediately turning "live" experience digital and 2-D, and
equalizing audience and performer on screen.
